Enforcement of Time Limits for On-Street Parking to Begin 5/1/2026
ENFORCEMENT OF TIME LIMITS FOR ON-STREET PARKING - EFFECTIVE 5/1/2026On-street parking in downtown Oxford has long had a time limit, two hours in most places and 15 minutes in front of the post office (§15-501). Until recently the Borough did not have the technical capability to enforce this consistently, but we do now and we need to: On-street parking is meant for shorter visits into town. Downtown residents and employees should park in available lots and the Borough garage, not on the street. On-street time limits encourage turnover, making it easier for patrons to quickly pop into town for a coffee, to shop, or grab a bite to eat. If someone is driving through town, we want them to be able to pull over if they see something interesting in a storefront. In this way, enforcing time limits to on-street parking supports downtown revitalization and vitality.Beginning May 1st the Borough will begin enforcing the time limits for all on-street parking downtown. In most areas the limit is 2 hours. It is 15 minutes in front of the post office. For the first few weeks we will issue warnings. Effective June 1st, we will begin issuing citations. This means, beginning June 1st, a vehicle could be ticketed for failing to pay for parking and/or parking on the street for longer than the allowable time, as two separate fines. The cost to park and ways to pay remain the same. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us to build an economically vibrant downtown!

Borough Spring Clean Up Event
2026 OXFORD BOROUGH SPRING CLEAN UP EVENTApril 30 through May 2, 2026 from 7am. - 3pm. Location: 450 W. Locust St. Oxford PA 19363Public works staff will be on hand to direct participants and assist with unloading.Acceptable Items:Scrap metal Appliances Used oil Yard waste and brush will be accepted but residents are reminded to place sticks and bagged yard waste curbside for weekly pick up.Tires will be accepted with payment, in cash only, as follows: Car & light truck tires: $ 5.00 Heavy truck tires (19.5): $9.00 Please Note:Recyclable Electronics will NOT be accepted.Empty paint cans will be accepted if the lid is removed and all contents are dry.No hazardous materials of any kind will be accepted.No liquids of any kind will be accepted. The Borough’s recycling trailer will be available during the event for all recyclable materials.This event is for Oxford Borough residents only and proof of residency is required.All payments for items requiring a fee for disposal will be CASH only.All items will be disposed of at the discretion of public works staff.Any item or load may be refused at any time.

Oxford Borough Equal Access PledgeAt their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, April 6th, Borough Council adopted an equal access pledge, put forth by and signed by Mayor of Oxford, Philip Harris. The pledge affirms that:"The Borough of Oxford is committed to providing access and services to all people regardless of their immigration status, language spoken, race, religion, national origin, gender/gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability. All persons in the Borough are entitled and encouraged to:Access government services including emergency services such as police, fire and EMS; Report crimes, domestic abuse, housing violations, ordinance violations, including discrimination and public nuisances;Access all Borough services, including water; andAttend and participate in Borough meetings.Anyone who is concerned about accessing Borough government services is encouraged to contact the Mayor, members of Borough Council or the Borough Manager."
