Mayor Philip Harris

I ENCOURAGE BOROUGH RESIDENTS TO BECOME INVOLVED IN BOROUGH GOVERNMENT BY ATTENDING COUNCIL MEETINGS AND VOLUNTEERING TO SERVE ON BOARDS OR COMMISSIONS.

Welcome to the Mayor of Oxford's website.  Oxford, named after Oxford England, and incorporated in 1833 has experienced residential growth over the last 10-15 years and more is planned.  The Borough is trying to meet the challenge by improving infrastructure, roads and services. The employees of the Borough are working hard to enable residents to enjoy services that promote a positive quality of life.  In addition, a seven member Council, and  Borough Manager work closely with borough employees to ensure the best possible services are available.  Vital to the life of any community is the involvement of its residents in community programs.  I encourage you to consider serving on the Borough's various boards and committees, running for elective office, and invite you to support the businesses located in our downtown and neighboring communities.

1/7/2021-

This year was difficult, exciting, unique, inspiring, powerful and challenging to say the least. I have learned much and yet have much more to learn. Public service is a sacrifice in so many ways, and not just for those in office, our families, spouses and children are all a part, perhaps the largest part. I am proud of my accomplishments and the professional interactions with our Police Department and Borough Council, I am proud of this community for forging through the pandemic and lifting one another up, and for the countless volunteers, donors and citizens that contribute every day. And no matter how difficult it gets or how tired I may become, I will always lead with the respect, honor and civility that our Oxford Police Department brings to this community daily.

Excited for year two!
