FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

 

Q:    Do I have to have the number of my house located on the building if I am a resident of the Borough?

 A:    Yes. According to Section 304.3 of the International Property Maintenance Code, buildings shall have approved address numbers placed in a position to be plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property. These numbers shall contrast with their background. Address numbers shall be Arabic numerals  or alphabet letters. Numbers shal be a minimum of 4 inches (102mm) high with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch (12.7 mm).

Q:     How early can trash collectors start picking up trash in the Borough?

A.     In Section 20-108 of the Borough Code, the collector shall be permitted to collect, remove and transport refuse/solid waste on all days of the week except Sunday and the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Unless otherwise ordered, the collection of refuse/solid waste shall not commence before 5 a.m. and shall be completed by 7 p.m. on any single day of collection. All refuse from cans and receptacles of occupants of dwellings shall be collected, removed and emptied by the collector at least once each week.
